The rains are over for now and the dogs in the Los Angeles City Shelters are still enjoying their comfortable new beds!

This project that became known as Perla Bed project (Project Bed-e-Buy) was spearheaded by Sherry Brewer, a Los Angeles Animal Services (LAAS) volunteer and activist in the animal community who is totally dedicated to the plight of shelter animals. Sherry was instrumental in the success of this project.

We are grateful for the assistance of Lola McKnight, President of Shelter Animal Advocacy Fund, Los Angeles (SAAFLA) and Debbie Fan, a SAAFLA member for setting up the fundraising for the beds and helping to deal with the logistics of getting the beds delivered.

In total, the project culminated in 588 beds being ordered at a cost of $6,794.88.
